Fire Warden Training Description
This is a half day/ 3 hour Fire Warden training course
This is an excellent course for managers and staff to gain knowledge of their legal requirements of fire safety in the workplace.
Learners will come away with an understanding of fire risks and threats and be able to apply this knowledge to their specific workplace.
On completion of training, successful candidates will be able to:
- Role of a Fire Warden: Understand the responsibilities and duties of a designated fire warden.
- Employee Duties: Understand the fire safety responsibilities of all employees.
- UK Fire Safety Legislation: Understand relevant fire safety laws and regulations.
- Fire Safety Procedures: Understand workplace fire safety protocols and emergency actions.
- Fire Prevention & Common Causes: Identify common fire hazards and prevention strategies.
- Arson: Recognise signs and risks associated with deliberate fire setting.
- Chemistry of Fire: Identify the basic science behind how fires start and spread.
- Fire Protection: Understand passive and active fire protection systems.
- Fire Risk Assessment & Emergency Plan: Identify how to conduct risk assessments and develop emergency plans.
- Fire Drills & Evacuation: Understand the importance of drills and safe evacuation procedures.
- Fire Control: Identify techniques for controlling and containing fires.
- Fire Doors: Identify the function and importance of fire doors in fire safety.
- Safety Briefings: Deliver effective fire safety briefings to staff and visitors.
- Signage: Identify fire safety signs and their meanings.
- Extinguisher Recognition: Identify different types of fire extinguishers and their meaning
- Extinguisher Practical: Attendees have the opportunity to discharge extinguishers in a controlled environment. (CO2 and a foam or water fire extingusher)
